Consumer Education Proficiency (ICEPT)
Due to state funding cut backs, the Consumer Education Proficiency Test (ICEPT) will not be offered this school year.
Note: This is a Graduation Requirement, which is fulfilled by passing one of the Consumer Ed classes listed below:
- Information Processing for Consumers
- E-Consumerism
- Consumer Education
- Introduction to Business
- Life Studies Orientation/Consumer Education
- Sociology of Marriage and the Family
- Cooperative Work Training
- Interrelated Career Education
- Sociology 1 and 2
- Economics
- American Problems
- AP Economics - Micro & Macro
Seniors if you have not enrolled in any of these classes, be sure to see your Counselor.
Information Processing Proficiency
Passing the Information Processing class or passing the Proficiency fulfills District 214's graduation requirement.
Only Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors are eligible to register for the Information Processing Proficiency.
(Seniors need to see their Counselors to register for the Information Processing class second semester).
This proficiency will be administered twice during
first semester of the 2011/2012 school year.

Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 7:30 a.m.
STUDENTS NEED TO ARRIVE BY 7:25 a.m.
It is
NOT administered second semester.
The proficiency is a multiple choice test which includes, but is not limited to, questions on the following topics :
Computer Basics (bytes, rom and ram memory)
Keyboarding technique
Email etiquette
Internet searching/evaluating websites
Basic Excel functions
Web 2.0
Microsoft Word-document formatting, resume writing, memo, MLA reports, tables, tabs
Microsoft Toolbars
PowerPoint/presentation software
Basic shortcut keys
Internet safety
Registration: Contact the Assessment Center, Room 143, no later than November 4, 2011, for November Test Date.
Contact the Assessment Center, Room 143, no later than December 2, 2011 for the December Test Date.
Note: Students have 75 minutes to complete the exam.
