Mission Statement
The philosophy of the Dean’s Office is to cultivate a safe, orderly and effective environment that promotes mutual respect and encourages citizenship. A culture predicated on mutual respect and citizenship will enhance students’ academic success and prepare them to be responsible, contributing members of society. It is our goal to facilitate the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of discipline with dignity that is shared and supported by the school community.
School Dances
Each dance that is held at Prospect High School, current students will be required to bring their school ID to be scanned at the door. If they do not have an current school ID, they will be able to purchase a temporary one for $5.00. Detentions MUST be served before the dance. Students will be refused entry if they still have unserved detentions. A PHS student may bring a guest to the dance, but must first fill out the
District 214 Guest Dance Form (pdf) and turn it in to the Deans office by 2:00pm the Friday before each dance. The dances are usually $10.00, unless otherwise noted.
October 15 Homecoming Dance 8pm - 11:00pm
January 21 Winter Ball Dance 8pm - 11:00pm
March 3 Turnabout Dance 8pm - 11:00pm
June 1 Prom (price varies) 8pm - 11:00pm (* ticket sales for Prom and Post Prom go on sale Saturday, May 12 from 10am - 11:30am)
Post Prom 11:00pm - 3:00am
Student ID cards
Students must have their ID cards on them at all times during the school day and at school functions (Dances, sporting events, and activities).
Replacement ID cards are available in the Main Office during normal business hours. Replacement cards are $5.00
Visitor Guidelines
All visitors are required to verify their identity and confirm their purpose of business by checking in at a security desk located at either Door 4 or 30. Visitors from outside District 214 are required to leave a picture ID at the security desk in exchange for a visitor’s badge. Visitors can retrieve their ID before they leave the building for the day.
Harassment and Bullying Information
If you are being bullied or harassed by another person at school or at school functions, please tell a friend, a staff member, the Dean, our School Resource Officer or your Counselor. We want to help make it stop. You should be able to attend Prospect High School without the fear of being harassed or bullied.
Safety Tips
- Lock you items in your locker.
- Do not share your combination or locker with anyone.
- Label your calculator with your name in several different places, including the battery case.
- Do not leave your items (backpack, jacket, books) unattended. Especially the locker rooms!
- When you attend the school dances, make sure you use the coat-check to make sure your items are safe.
Detention Schedule
All detentions are served in room 144, unless otherwise noted by a posting on the detention room door noting alternate location. Detentions start at 6:45am everyday school is in session. Click

Lost and Found/Stolen Items
IIf you lost an item, please check in the Attendance Office and fill out the "lost/theft form". Expensive items such as; mp3 players, phones, TI-84 type calculators, will be stored in the School Resource Officer’s office until claimed. If we can match an item to a Lost and Found Report, we will send a pass for you to pick up your item.

If you had an item stolen while at school, stop into the Attendance office and ask to speak with one of the Deans or the School Resource Officer.
